Serious Sam: Next Encounter
Serious Sam: Next Encounter is a dinosaur of sorts, an evolutionary throwback to the days when Doom was the king of first person shooters. While more recent entries have added to the genre formula with strategic elements, managing entire squads of rifle-toting troops, or respectable and challenging A.I., Sam's credo remains a simple "Kill 'em all." And that's with 'em being defined as anything that moves, and the kill part should preferably be performed with a mini gun that throws out twelve hundred rounds per minute.

SSX 3
You can't help but feel a little overwhelmed at first. Even though there is only one mountain in the entire game, it's absolutely huge, consisting of three peaks each with multiple routes. You see yourself transported to the different points on the mountain by means of carriages, air-planes, or choppers. The sense of scope is truly amazing, not only in terms of the graphical presentation of the mountain but also in terms of the sheer amount of stuff to partake in. Upon selecting the main mode, Conquer the Mountain, you're confronted with a ridiculous number of play modes.

Need For Speed Underground 2
Last year, EA's Need For Speed Underground was the Madden of racers, selling five million copies worldwide across all platforms. It comes as no surprise that EA has announced a sequel, developed by EA Canada and cleverly titled Need For Speed Underground 2, which is set to ship for PC, Xbox, PS2, GameCube, and GBA this fall. Underground 2 features one giant city with five distinct neighborhoods (think, boroughs of New York), where rival racers challenge gamers to races, offer tips on the hot racing spots and places to buy car upgrades. New game modes are promised, along with deeper performance and visual customization on over 30 licensed cars. How many new decals and paint jobs can there really be? Enough to create over 70 billion different car combinations.

Pokemon Colosseum
Though the RPG follows most of the rules and gameplay established in the Pokemon RPG series up to this point, Pokemon Colosseum brings forth a new element: Shadow Pokemon. Shadow Pokemon are essentially "abused" Pokemon creatures, noted by the writers as "Pokemon with the doors to their heart closed." The Shadow Pokemon are the foundation to the GameCube adventure's quest and storyline, as well as the gameplay itself. A good amount of what makes the Game Boy Pokemon series so great is well represented in Pokemon Colosseum. The battle strategy, the collection management, the creature training are all a part of the RPG created specifically for the GameCube Pokemon game.
